Elegant. Innovative. Iconic. Celebrated.

2001: Elliptica

A timepiece that defines the history and character of a watch company comes along perhaps once in a generation. The new Movado Elliptica with its gracefully curved case and striking linear dial was such a watch. Curved to follow the wrist, Elliptica’s graceful comma-shaped case with crown at 12 o’clock paid tribute to the early Movado Polyplan.

Its rectangular dial with parallel lines of graduated length describing a circle at the center paid homage to the legendary single dot Movado Museum dial. The dial itself was angled within the case, allowing time to be read without tilting the wrist.

A modern sports watch that reflected Movado’s rich heritage in an innovative and original way, Elliptica revealed a casual new attitude toward luxury and a powerful presence that were original and unique.
