Baselworld 2016

In celebration of 135 years of creativity and innovation, Movado is hosting acclaimed actress and social activist Kerry Washington, and world renowned industrial designer Yves Béhar, founder of fuseproject, at Baselworld 2016. Exclusive events to honor Washington’s 10-year anniversary as Movado brand ambassador, and to celebrate a dynamic collaboration with Béhar and the global launch of the new Movado Edge collection, are being held during the annual global watch event.

In addition, Movado’s retail partners around the world are being shown exciting new watches that will be launched later this year: Celebrating the brand’s proud legacy of innovative design, the Heritage Series will debut with modern interpretations of the 1950 Calendoplan and 1947 Celestograf watches. Also being presented at Basel, a new generation of the distinctive Esperanza – a signature collection featuring Art Deco-inspired open link bracelet designs. 

Movado is also bringing exciting new materials and technological advancements to several of its best-selling collections: The futuristic Sapphire family will add women’s jewelry-inspired faceted link bracelets. Bela will introduce striking crystalized titanium dials and Series 800 will premiere models with new colored dials and matching bezels. The architecturally-inspired Vizio line is adding a model enhanced by a multi-function ‘Mechatronic’ movement, a testament to Movado’s passionate commitment to design innovation.

Finally, Movado is proud to present a special watch exhibit in its innovative exhibition space at Baselworld in Hall 1.0 South. On display – ground-breaking new designs, and award-winning, patented, rare and acclaimed historical timepieces that reflect Movado’s rich heritage of creativity and innovation in watch design, a foundation of the Movado brand experience since 1881.
