Turn 2 Foundation event at JALC with Wynton Marsalis

Movado and Derek Jeter hosted young people from Turn 2’s Jeter’s Leaders Program during a special evening at Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC) on December 7, 2012. “Jeter’s Leaders” is Turn 2’s youth leadership development program designed to promote healthy lifestyles, academic achievement and social change activism among high school students. The Leaders attended a performance of JALC’s annual Big Band Holiday Concert, highlighted by a special pre-performance interview with jazz legend Wynton Marsalis.

2012 NIGHT OF STARTS GALA

Movado sponsored the 29th Annual Fashion Group International Night of Stars Gala on October 25, 2012 in New York City. The event honors the fashion industry’s biggest stars and recognizes individuals who make a significant impact on design and culture. Jazz great and Movado brand ambassador Wynton Marsalis was honored with the prestigious Humanitarian Award in recognition of his commitment to improving the lives of others. MGI Chairman and CEO Efraim Grinberg presented the award to Wynton.

THE GENTLEMEN'S FUND EVENT

Movado sponsored The Gentlemen’s Fund 2012 Leader Awards and honored the five outstanding Leader Award Winners in New York City on October 24, 2012. GQ magazine’s The Gentlemen’s Fund initiative raises awareness for issues that are essential to modern men, and encourages men to become agents of change by supporting charities that champion these causes. The Leader Award Winners attended as guests of Movado and each received a Movado timepiece and a donation to their chosen charity.

FALL GALA 2011

Movado sponsored the New York City Ballet's 2011 Fall Gala, Thursday, September 22, 2011, featuring the World Premiere of Ocean's Kingdom, a collaboration between Paul McCartney and NYCB Ballet Master in Chief Peter Martins. The production marked the first time that Paul McCartney has written an original orchestral score for dance. It also featured costumes designed by his daughter, the acclaimed fashion designer Stella McCartney.
