I always thought one had to go to a jeweler's shop to buy a watch! Wrong, for once I shopped online, possibly because I knew I wanted a Movado, I recently lost mine on a beach holiday. I had my previous Movado for 43 years without one problem over all that time and didn't want to change. Albeit I found the 40 mm far too big for my wrist and the link strap likewise, the return was easy and the newly chosen 33mm fitted perfectly. I love it.

I’ve wanted one for sooo long. Bought my oldest son and my better half one. Decided that since I bought them one it’s my time. The Queen has her one! Fabulous!

I had a Tissot for many decades that had a plain black face, a gold case, and gold hands. I lost it twice under extraordinary circumstances (getting on the Ferry to the Statue of Liberty and hiking a mountain in Yosemite) and was able to retrieve it miraculously in both cases. So lots of history there. It's final death throes have been heartbreaking and trying to find a similar replacement has been difficult. This Classic Museum Movado will do the trick. I love the plain black face, gold case, and gold hands with their tapered shape. The 33mm is the perfect size for this 5'6" female who is given to bold, rather than dainty, accessories (though I'm not into comically oversized). So, why four stars instead of five? Well, if I could redesign it, I would do two things. First, I would make the dot at the twelve position a wee bit smaller, since its size shouts a bit, saying, "Here is my fancy watch and I think I'm a fancy person," which is not de rigueur in the punk, goth, and rock 'n' roll milieus in which I frequently find myself. Second, the leather band is a bit large lengthwise and thick for my svelte wrist. I plan to replace it with a shorter, thinner lizard band. Yet, I'm so glad I found this and am for the most part quite pleased. I just hope it lasts the many decades that my last beloved watch did.

Watch seems to be of good quality but I was expecting a bit more glamorous watch band and packaging considering the price

As a guy who loved the design of this watch (it started life the same year I did), I bought the 44mm man's watch first but my wrist is narrow and the face and strap arms completely covered my wrist and the strap didn't show except on the sides and back. So this time I thought I would buy the next size down 33mm. It is a lot more to scale on my arm but the strap is the ladies strap which is tapered and looks not as masculine as the large size does.

The watch itself is a classic but I've never had a band that squeaks everytime I move my hand. I dont love the watch and I dont hate either.
